About

Hi All. This Blog was born from my dealings with a dodgy car sales company. I hope to raise people's awareness by sharing my story and hopefully others sharing their's about their experiences.

I bought a car from a company called Woolston Car Supermarket in Hampshire which I had a number of issues with. After doing a bit of Google searching I found out that certain individuals involved with this organisation have been involved with, lets just say unscrupulous behaviour in the past. Two names will keep reaccuring on this site and they are Richard Burbage and Stan Rudgley.

These individuals appear to have no concerns about selling death traps to individuals and familes with children. I hope this site raises awarness of these crooks and their other people they drag in to thir dealings and if if stops others from the same plight as mysekf and others who have commented on here it will have achueved something. Hope you find it helpful and if you would like to share your story but do not want to directly post you can email me at sharedodgycarsales@gmail.com.

Below are both limited and trading names of some company's they have been known to use:

Swiftbird Ltd t/a The Van Centre Southampton
Delta Flag Ltd t/a Pro Motors
Stratton Cars
Oakmount Cars
Valley Cars
South Coast Enterprises
Service 4 Life Ltd
The Elite Car Company
Fort Wallington Car Sales
Woolston Car Supermarket Ltd
Hampshire Vehicle Sales

I can tell all that Stan Rudgley is trading as TALISMAN car sales Winchester Rd Lower Upham just opposite the Alma Inn(up a dirt track)Went there yesterday looking for a runabout for daughter advertised on his ebay site. Forked out £300 dep with promises of 12mths mot & warrenty etc, came home with an uncanny feeling all was not right. On searching the net found your blog!! Went there today and on confronting him was told in no uncertain terms would not get deposit back. When I contacted police was told it was a civil matter and to get in touch with trading standards which I will do but not holding out much hope. Seems the LEECH stills lives on!!

I can confirm this is where he is. I have forked out £1900 on a car there and on confronting him for a refund was told quite bluntly, NO. I have contacted trading standards and have been told to confront him myself first and to tell them of the outcome whether positive or negative.

Confirmed. It appears that they're still in business under a new guise of Deltaflag LTD t/a Pro Motors as the previous poster has stated. Looking at the company details it appears to be a partner of crime of theirs!

Bought a car from delta flag Ltd pro motors, payed 3500 for it and it lasted a week. They gave the name of the warranty company and on ringing them they had no knowledge of the car. Now pro motors gave credit card details to pay the fee, which bounced. Now I'm left with a car in the garage that I can't get until the bill is paid thanks to these f#ck wits, stay well clear. If anyone has any suggestions on how I can resolve this it would be much appreciated. Thanks

Now the works done and the company aren't paying up the fees for the repairs, they gave a company that they said the warranty was with but they didn't have the books, then they gave a credit card that bounced and now they are just making up excuses. I viewed the car and they promised to MOT and do all advisories.
They delivered to me, but they had 'forgotten ' MOT certificate. They promised to bring it round. 2 days later, I rang and they said it was in post, that was a week ago
I just logged on to find email address.

I wonder why these warnings didn't come up before when I tried to check out company prior to purchase

Small Claim Court Misrepresentation claim against both Burbage and Rudgely.

Wait for fraud conviction as that will provide public evidence.

Bought a car from them in December 14, they delivered it to us, when they had gone we realised half the documents were missing, contacted them and the usual b*****it, it's been posted, so far all they have sorted is warranty, beginning of February, that was only because I phoned warranties 2000 and asked for policy number, they told me car wasn't registered as having one. KEEP ON AT THEM!!!!

You can take to county court through an online application,(under £50) don't make the mistake of naming the company name the individual.
They are obviously arrogant and ether wont respond to the writ or turn up to defend the case so it will automatically be found in your favor.
Wait a week then escalate to the high court for the sheriff of the court to deal with cost £60
they have more power that the police, or bailiffs.

If you have receipts from Deltaflag Ltd or paid money into Deltaflag Ltd business accounts then you have no claim under the Sales of Goods Act against the people that own the company.

Burabge, Rudgely and Warren all know they claims will not stick and even when the law catches up with them they will declare bankrupt. Read Burbage's bleating in court as reported in the Daily Echo.

Plenty of claims failed against Hampshire Vehicle Sales and Woolston Car Supermarket.

make your county court to the individual and name them in the writ not the company. as they are a director you are allowed, if you name the company they will just down it that is why they think they keep getting away with it.

If the car was sold to you by a limited company then the directors liability is LIMITED.

Seems that someone is very keen that no claims are made against DeltaFlag Ltd.

Who ever put my address on here for contact of delta flag this is a lie. Mr Darryl Warren used my address as his company has left me with lots of upset customers to contact. He lives in Southampton with his girlfriend she knows all he does. He has taken out loans for the business at my address.
Mr Warren runs Delta flag is ruthless and I do hope he gets what is coming to him. I will happily help bring him down after all he is putting myself and my family through and to help anyone that has put trust in this low life!

Hi all. I'm happy to remove any personal addresses that are not linked to either Darryl, Stan or indeed Richard. However if an address iso a business address of these crooks and are in the public domain they will remain to stop others from being ripped off by these crooks. One way to do this is to try to stop their adverts being seen. When I was initially scamed by them a group of us reported every advert we could find on auto trader, gum tree and eBay. Also I was hoping to use monies gain from the adverts I have recently added to this blog to advertise on other sites. Unfortunately in order for me withdraw any monies from the advertisement account for this I need to reach the withdrawal limit which I'm nowhere near. So if you find something useful or of interest on the links please use them and once I reach the limit I will withdraw and buy advertisement myself for this blog. Please spread the word about the blog and let's stop these numpties from trading.

Ebay and gumtree should provide addresses if you need such details to progress a claim.

If they refuse then report to ico.org.uk.

There is a chance then, if ico rule that the address should have been provided, to claim against ebay/gumtree for losses.

At some point Trading Standards will prosecute (?) then addresses wil be public.

Trading addresses are on fb.com .Links on this blog.

If you did a bank transfer/online banking or used a credit card or debit card for payment, you might also be protected under Section 75 via means of Chargeback or Transaction Dispute Procedure. Your bank or Credit company might ask for a police reference or trading standards reference. Or you might need to write to them with proof of misconduct.

I hope this helps someone.

URGENT - OK everyone - these cowboys are planning to stop trading and have applied to Companies' House for a DS01 (Proposal to Strike Off) which means than none of us will have any chance of recovering our money after 17th January 2016. It is essential that we all contact Companies' House enquiries@companieshouse.gov.uk quoting Delta Flag Ltd company number 09282467 objecting to their proposal to strike off on the grounds that you are owed money and providing as much evidence as possible. Given that Stan, Darren and Richard are clearly unscrupulous past-masters at this and will pop up again trading under yet another different name, anything we can do to, at least, slow them down from ripping off anyone else has to be worth trying.

We live a 3 hour drive away so it has been difficult to hunt them down. Very grateful for the latest information and will be taking action through the courts and trading standards -
although not holding my breath we will get money back - they must owe so much.
why cant they be stopped ??????

Hi all.

Swift bird Ltd ta The Van Centre Southampton just ripped of a friend of mine too.
He paid cash to one of the little rats to Tax the Vehicle on site, this was independently witnessed. Later I checked with the DVLA, not only no Tax, but no MOT as well. Told them to sort it or as this is Criminal matter under the Theft act, obtaining money by deception (section 15A of the Theft Act 1968) Southampton police will be informed.

It breaks my heart that these c*nts are still trading. My son lost the money he was given by my parents for his 21st by buying a car with a "warranty" which just didn't exist when the car, which had allegedly been serviced, broke down beyond economic repair. Avoid these fucking cowboys at all costs.

Anonymous said...

I have been scammed by these a--- holes too just last week, they sold me a car with apparently 12 months MOT FSH MOT and oil change having been done the same day as they delivered it. He was supposed to be at mine for 5 o'clock and turned up at 9pm saying he had got lost. Parked the delivered car at the end of my car park pressed up against a wooden fence. The car had a smashed rear window and the bonnet was broken for which I had confirmed that the car neither had a oil change or an MOT. I called them the following morning to say I was not happy with the car, asked to please have my (part exchange) car back and cancel the deal to which they replied that the window must have been broken at my house and that my car had broken down on the return journey and they didn't know where it was (total shit). They offered to fix the window but with all the other doubts I refused. Basically they refused to go back on the deal so I said I was on my way to Southampton to have this out face to face. On the drive down when I got on the motorway the car started to swerve violently so I reduced speed, left the motorway and headed for the nearest police station. They suggested going to a nearby MOT station and get Fe car retested. Needless to say the car failed its MOT and they recommended not driving the vehicle, what's more the mileage had been tampered with and they had knocked more than 100,000 miles off the clock. From the MOT centre I drove to the address stated on the website and all I could find where farms that had not recollection of swiftbird or the van centre. I have since managed to track down the ex owner of the car who confirmed the the car had been stolen and vandalized hence the broken window. The car was then sold to these low lives for scrap. I have now reported this to the police and also contacted Trading Standards who have showed great interest and have asked for an official statement. I suggest that anyone who had had problems with this guy and have not had a response from trading standards or simply not contacted them to do so now. I would also like to suggest us all getting together to go against these a--- holes. Strength in numbers !!!!

The next communication was, "we will pay the money we owe you, if you remove your comment" Well the comment remains, and trust me, we will get £220 you owe, one way or another! Check your new Facebook/Twitter Accounts. Stay away from these rouges.

Sorry I can't find other posts from Unique Electronics but sounds like you have touched a nerve, can you please explain how you did it, theses guys need to be stopped one way or another

Following on from my earlier comment, as it goes the Vehicle was not a rotter, and pretty good, passed its MOT, and now worth more than the price paid. I will let you know if a refund is paid on the Tax, and price of the MOT which should have been included.

Unknown said...

Well done. You must be lucky customer that I've been looking for for the last 2 year's or more. May be they're not that bad. Ha ha.

Unknown said...

Yes it is them, I was done over by them a couple of weeks ago

Unknown said...

This is the address I have and I have had it investigated and they are definitely trading vehicles from here.
Simba Farm
Portsmouth Road
Colden Common
Southampton
So507HF.

Unknown said...

I have been told by trading standards that the above address is just a virtual address.

annonymous said...

I was told to remove my comment calling them crooks or I wont see my money...well low and behold no refund and now they are refusing to take my calls. I have today received a copy of my official sratement to sign and send back to Trading Standards, Hampshire Police are also involved and it has also been reported to Action Fraud run by the Metropolitan Police. He also tried reselling the vehicle that he is 'Buying Back' from me on eBay. The address on their website is incorrect. Hes trading from Simba Farm and the yard looks like a scrappies.

Sorry to hear your plight. Unfortunately these scammers/crooks/con artists/low lives have no limits and are more than content ripping people off selling their death trapped cars. This blog has recieved a high number of comments and complaints and if we all get on to eBay and report each and every single advert they have live we can try to get them kciked off the site. It will take everyone reading this to do it in order for this to happen. I'm sure a lot of their business comes from eBay so let's get reporting all?

After buying my car in Dec 14, reporting these scumbags/crooks to Trading Standards in Jan 15, signing statement and sending it back to trading standards, I am still waiting for these people to get what they deserve. I have now found out that the car I bought is a CAT D write off, other point not told when buying vehicle, which they should have done. Come on guys, how do we stop these people? One day someone will die in one of these vehicles they are selling as they don't care what happens so long as they get the money. Does it have to come to that before they are stopped?????

Anonymous said...

That is exactly my thoughts and exactly what I told the police after trying to get the car back to them and having to come off the motorway because the car was too dangerous to drive. Perhaps if I had killed myself then the police might have shown interest. I really don't understand the laws in the UK. I still say lets all get together !!!!

Anonymous said...

Good move is to report to ebay. Links on here proving selling vehicles not located where they are registered to trade. Looks like they are 'nicking' listings and posting them as their goods. Ebay has shut them down once as Pro-Motors until they sorted out the problems with breaking ebay rules.

As now in West Sussex worth dropping Trading Standards there a complaint.

What a bunch of ****. I transfered 2K to the through bank transfer. they have never issued me a receipt, and for the last 2 days have promised and failed to deliver my car. (claiming engine management light came on and they would sort it out before they let me have it. Very clever and convincing on the phone but now finding this website i think they have claimed another victim.
** any ideas what to do next would be appreiated but not holding out much hope

Sorry to hear you've joined our club. I had trading standards round yesterday for almost 3 hours and they certainly seem interested in this story and are closing in on them. Get in touch with them as soon as possible and report them.

Anonymous said...

I am still waiting for Trading Standards to get these low life bastards, 14 months on from reporting it and I've heard nothing. When the day comes and they get what they deserve I want to be there, they are scum and deserve to have the book thrown at them. We bought a car in good faith and what do we get in return, lies, lies and more lies. NO WARRANTY, NO SERVICE HISTORY, 3 PERISHED TYRES, and a load of bullshit from them. Where are they now???????

I am sorry to read the above posts - was planning on viewing a van this coming weekend, I shall now cancel that for sure!

Good to see you found this site first and happy car hunting away from these crooks

Just been searching for these low lifes on net, came across a few different names,
Swiftbird Ltd
Swiftbird t/a Just vans and 4x4's
Swiftbird Ltd t/a West Sussex car company
Swiftbird t/a The Van Centre
3 of these names came up on same web page. Also as mentioned in another comment these people are in Yapton Lane, Yapton, West Sussex, BN18 0AS. Check this address out before you buy from them, don't fall into same trap as a lot of others have.

Anonymous said...

this wont get your cash back but maybe eventually get them a prison sentence report your dealings to action fraud which is run by the metropolitan police and when you get on there site go to online shopping fraud if you made a deal with this crowd through the internet this is where to report it. The met collate all these cases and gather evidence so that culprits can be taken to court. It takes a while to complete the online form and be sure to have all your information to hand as form will time out if you leave it to long and you would have to start from scratch, good luck

Anonymous said...

I have just looked at swiftbirds latest online garage linked to ebay most of the registration numbers are blanked out but the ones you can read when you check the details they give with the dvla check mot history where you only need the vehicle make and reg number is showing that the mileages they advertise are way below the last mot mileage one van had not had an mot for 3 years suggesting scrap. How are the police not inspecting these vehicles which are obviously not right. I also suspect the ones that are blanked out they do not have but have found the photos on the internet and are purporting to have these for sale and then scamming whoever offers to buy them

When I contacted companies house they said that there was no such limited company. This was in any of the guises they had used. I had looked myself & couldn't see anything relating to them on the official list. I'm currently trying to get iver £5000 back from Darryl Warren. He & his associates are unscrupulous. I need his actual address so I can serve him via the court writ I have. The address they gave me has new houses being built on it! Can anyone help?

Why are these people still trading and being allowed to rip people of I got ripped of by them nearly a year ago i have reported them to trading standards spent 3 hours with trading standards making a report and reported them to the police after receiving threatening phone calls from them there must be enough evidence against for then to be re arrested and hopefully jailed before one of the dangerous cars kills someone.

Anonymous said...

Im sick and tired of waiting for these low life bastards to be arrested for what they are doing to decent hardworking people, I reported them 14 months ago to Trading Standards and still no action, they are still ripping people off. Reported them to ebay, what a waste of time that was. I have checked MOT history on some of the vehicles they are selling and as one of the above comments said, some cars haven't had MOTs for a few years, the mileage is higher than stated on the adverts. I had to sell my car at a loss recently because I just found out it was a Cat D write off after 15mths of driving it round.

Thanks guys, am searching for a reliable car for about £2k, messaged swiftltd on eBay last night about a couple of their cars. Just got up to google where I'm going and your website popped up!
Looks like you've saved me from a wasted trip & a dodgy car!

Currently seeking legal advice after spending thousands on a car that was never delivered. When I confronted him for the car or my money back, I was told it was nothing to do with him (Richard Burbage)

Car bought from
Yapton lane, yapton, West Sussex under "swift bird" name.

Please don't buy a car from these people.

That's them!

They currently owe me £3k! Keep away!

Anonymous said...

these scumbags still owe me £2600! Dropped the van off to be fixed and they never returned it. Do not be taken in by these fraudsters. They make their living by ripping off families and small businesses. If anyone has anymore details regarding their arrest this May I'd be pleased to know as I'd like to sit in the gallery in court and watch them go down.

My granddad went three times to visit this place, after arranging times no one turned up. Thank god!! They are in yapton west sussex. I had a phone call from my brother about half an hour ago asking for there number. Luckily I saw this blog underneath and had a quick flick through. Cant believe what I am seeing!! so glad I have read this. My granddad or brother wont be going anywhere near that place.
What is sad is my granddad had this happen to him about 4 years ago on ebay, conned him out of 5k and to think he was so close to having done again :(

Unknown said...

Hi. Glad you found this in time. That was the reasoning behind it and I wish your grandad luck finding a new car and stay away form these crooks.

Anonymous said...

Just looked at the piles of sh@t they are selling online why are there so many with 0 miles?

Evasivo said...

Just want to say thank you to the creator of this site. I Googled Swift Cars Ltd as saw they were known Gumtree and found this site. Saved me a potential wasted trip to Arundel and a lot of cash judging from other people's experiences! Cudos and hope others have the sense to research traders.

Unknown said...

Hi. You're welcome and this was the reason for the site in the first place. It's good to know the site is being found by people like yourself. Happy car hunting and stay away from crooks like this.

Unknown said...

It's great to see the number of personal and public comments and emails I receive from people who have found this site. I'd be interested to know how much money it's stopped going in to Burbage and Rudgley's pockets the pair weak excuses for human beings that they are.

Anonymous said...

Hi just to say thanks I was going down tomorrow to see a van that I saw on gumtree but after reading everyone's comments I will stay well clear and keep on looking.

Ed said...

Me too... Saw a decent van on gumtree. Luckily searched for Swiftbird (to see if they had any more good stuff!) and found this site. Thanks a lot

Anonymous said...

So glad i found you guys, what a stroke of luck, thanks. I was heading there tomorrow to look at a few. I am still going there as i live near, however its only window shopping to see what car suits me best, but i aint parting with nothing. Thanks again.

Does anyone know what is happening with regards to court proceedings relating to these tossers especially Burbage and Rudgley? Nearly two years on from my statement to trading standards, talk about slow going, it's simple these knobheads are guilty as hell and need locking up. Any information appreciated.

Sorry for delay in authorising your comments. Email for this account had an issue so wasn't receiving them. Not sure where we're up to with these low lives at the minute. Are they still free?

Australian authorities won't be pursuing Burbage for the £6mill he ripped off the Australians. He got away with the money and won't spend a day in prison for crimes committed in Australia. Information from Worrell's (Receivers in webuyanycar.come. au investigation) website.

Anonymous said...

Burbage guilty on all counts and held on remand till sentencing in July and warren and Overton not guilty

Anonymous said...

What were they sentenced to? Was it 3years?

No they got 6 years
